Advil FSA and HSA Eligibility

Currently you can use your FSA and HSA to purchase OTC Advil products because of the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act. The CARES act was signed into law March 27, 2020. Previously under the Affordable Care Act, patients were required to get a doctor's prescription for OTC medications to be reimbursed through their HSA or FSA. The CARES Act eliminates the need for patients to get a prescription for non-prescription over-the-counter medications and drugs.
