On March 27, 2020, the Coronavirus Aid, Relief, and Economic Security (CARES) Act was signed into law, with inclusions mandating updates on the use of health savings accounts (HSAs), flexible spending accounts (FSAs) and health reimbursement accounts (HRAs). Among other provisions, the CARES Act reinstated certain over-the-counter (OTC) drugs and medications as qualified medical expenses for which HSA, FSA and HRA funds can be used.
